London – March 21, 2017
Ikshef – Family of the imprisoned Mosaad Al-Barbary, director of Ahrar 25 satelite channel, said that their husband, who is in prison at Wadi Al-Natroun, is refusing to receive visits from his family because of the prison administration’s abusive treatment of him, as he is not allowed to meet his visitors directly, and only sees them behind two barriers of barbed wire that he and the visitors can not see each other.

The prison administration had turned Al-Barbary into discipline cell, where he continued for 6 days without any belongings or food, and then transferred him to another cell.

His wife, Mrs. Ghada Salem, says that her husband took a small mirror from the bag of one of his daughters on a previous visit. When the prison administration searched him, they found that mirror. He was punished for that by being disciplined. He was denied access to his family as normal as the rest of the prisoners, and only sees them behind two barriers of barbed wire that almost block vision. The prison administration explained that this move will continue for three visits, which led him to refrain from receiving visits made in a non-human way.
