A letter to Mr. Donald Trump, President of the United States of America

Mr. President,
As you receive today your Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah El Sisi, dozens of Egyptian journalists are languishing in prisons and detention only for defending human Rights and democracy. Those journalists have been subjected to torture, deprived of medical treatment and many of them detained without trial for three years.

Mr. President,
When you shake hands with Sisi, you should know that his hands are stained with blood of 12 murdered Egyptian journalists, let alone foreign including British journalist, Mike Dean and Italian Julio Rigini. In the meantime, it’s necessary to remember that Sisi had ordered murdering thousands of peaceful protesters calling for freedom and democracy. It’s also noteworthy to remind you, Mr. Trump, that Sisi had imprisoned and detained more than 60.000 Egyptians including Egyptian/ Americans.

Mr. Trump, surely you are aware that absence of freedom, democracy and justice result in hopelessness in peaceful change of power; something that encourages terrorism, we in that part of the world, Middle East, as well as in the West, have been dearly. As much as we categorically condemn terrorism, we reject and condemn it’s vertile soil of repression.

Mr. President,
We just want to bring to your attention the gravity of Sisi’s policies and the fact that it’s these policies that grow the toxic terrorism.

Any help rendered to Sisi will be contributing to escalating terrorism, something that we definitely don’t want you to go down history books responsible for.
