Arab Media Freedom Monitor “Ikshef” expresses its full solidarity with the Center for the Protection and Freedom of Journalists in Jordan after being referred to the Attorney General.
The Center for the Protection and Freedom of Journalists in Jordan issued a statement in which he affirmed the soundness of his legal status, stressing that it respects and abides by the law and has not violated it since its establishment in 1998.
In response to what was published by Al-Dostor newspaper that “the Companies Controller referred the Center for the Protection and Freedom of Journalists to the Attorney General”, the center said in a statement that it has not been informed by any document in this regard so far, noting that the center is registered under the provisions of the law for nearly 20 years and has not received any notification of its violation of the law.
It stressed that there are attempts to discredit the center to public opinion, describing what is happening as targeting the institutions of civil society and an attempt to restrict its work.
