Liliane Daoud: Muslim Brotherhood Rule Was More Tolernt Than Sisi’s

(Ikshef) – British-Lebanese TV host Liliane Daoud said said there are less media freedoms under current regime in Egypt, and that she didn’t expect to see that deterioration.

In a BBC audio interview on Tuesday, she said she had never criticized Sisi in person, “but authorities in Egypt do not respect any criticism.”

Daoud admitted that under Muslim Brotherhood rule freedom of media was better than it the case now under Sisi.

Egyptian authorities held Daoud after half an hour of ON TV ending her contract, then she was deported to Lebanon. The Associted Press qouted an Egyptian official who said that she crossed red lines.
