Egypt’s Authorities Arrests Journalist Badr Mohammed Badr

Ikshef – On Wednesday evening, March 29, the Egyptian police forces arrested Badr Mohammed Badr, former editor of Al-Osra Al-Arabiyya newspaper , and former editor of Afaq Arabiyya newspaper, with more other journalistic positions. Also, The police raided his office in Faisal district, west of Cairo, and seized his personal computers, his car and some other belongings.

His family Holds the security services responsible for his safety, especially as he suffers from liver diseases, and some other diseases.

The arrest of journalist Bader Mohammed Badr came on the day that a court order was issued in the so-called Al-Shater Sons cell. The sentence included 3 journalists, one of whom was sentenced to life imprisonment, journalist Islam Jumaa. The court also has sentenced for 3 years Mohammed Abossoul, a journalist of Akhbar Al-Youm, and the same for Ayman Gaballah, of managing editor of Al-Jazeera Mubasher. Also, the arrest came a few days after the arrest of another journalist, Ahmed Abdul-Moneim, editor of Al-Mukhtar Islamic magazine during a lecture at a training center in Nasr City on the media.
